Dear list members-

Working on my intro, need to edit dramatically first.

I have found on two occasions that the decal applied to the frame was a lie.

First was my 1973 LeJeune processional team, the decal in French proclaimed 531 throughout. Upon the first headset rebuild I found a seamed headtube and a fork steerer by Nervor. (later respray shows 531 everywhere else)

Second was a Special C.N.C., while the decal stated 753, which I knew the maker was certified for, upon paint stripping it revealed its material identity, Super Vitus, a competitor to 753, essentially as light, but not truthful.

Still love both but they are not wearing their original proclaimed mat. Labels. It really boils down to does it ride well and do what it is supposed to.
