Hi, as far as I can tell this is a correct Rally RD, just with a NR outer
arm again.
The top and bottom housing are both NGS/RALLY versions, this is the last
version of this type, as it has the lower mounted return spring with the
correct top housing and inner arm and 4.00mm spline head rivat pins. Ok I
will concede that it may have been altered, only due to the fact that
those pins are the easist to replace, but apart from that all parts are
correct for a RALLY RD. I have pleased to finally see this version as I
have 3 of those top bodies, NOS, all with a unthreaded adjuster screw
hole, I wonder if they are just the same as the NOS unthreaded headset
locknut I have here somewhere, just another slippage in the quality
control dept.

I have seen these turn up every now and again, I think its just maybe the
NR outer plate being in the wrong bin when being assembled, or as Greg
said, Campagnolo using up some old stock. But in this case with the pins
being the double hollow ended type that were introduced approx 1982, I
would think it was just a parts bin oppsy. As RB siad who would go to
such lengths and also produce such a nice job, esp on the hardest pins to
work with.

Its always interesting to see how much some items sell for, I am always amused at some prices wether low or high, and even the fact that some items don't sell, with there low price, you can never read ebay.
