Some other categories that have high mojo preservation-

1) Restored by original builder

2) Restored by successor to original builder

3) Restored by close friend of original builder asked to carry on the torch

Examples:

1) Tom Kellogg: Kellogg, Redcay or Ross 2) Brian Bayliss: Masi, Wizard, Bayliss 3) Bruce Gordon: Gordon 4) Peter Weigle: Witcomb USA, Weigle 5) Listmeister: McLean (I think this is no more due to painter problems) 6) Waterford: Paramount

Another point is that old bikes (50's and back) can have very funky patina and yet should be left original unless they are in structural danger. In other words the restore / no restore equation is a sliding scale.
