.......Ron Cooper! I think. Based on Stevens' link to the Cooper seatstay photo I had missed, and some comments and recollections from Dave Feldman, I'm close to 99% sure now that the guy I remember was in fact RC. Thanks to all on the list who tried to come to the aid of my defective memory!
