Well, I don't know, the finish work on some Colnago Supers in the boom years was pretty rough. They were obviously superior to a mid-range Peugeot or Raleigh, but I think a Peugeot PX-10 or PY-10 was as well finished as those Colnagos and a Raleigh Professional Mk IV or Team Pro was probably a bit better.

Just what does this mean? I have a early to mid 80's Colnago and I just don't see anything wrong with it.. GD >>

They are referring to the fact that in those years, Colnago cranked out bikes at an amazingly high level, had sub contractors galore and thereby lost some snob appeal due to their volume production. Having said that, Colnago always used very good tubing, lugs, etc., for their labeled frames and had very high quality, relative to say other big production bikes like Raleigh or Peugeot or ?
