Subject: [CR]Query; Ishiwata tubing

Good Fellows, The recent detailed delving into Manesmann and related tubing aroused my curiosity for similar information on Ishiwata tubing.

Both my Emperor Sport mounts are made of the stuff and, by gum, they are quite light machines for their period (late 70s) though this is in no small part helped by silks on 250g gold mavic 'champion du monde de l'heure' rims and the Weyless pillar doesn't hurt either. The road mount is not far off 18lbs and the track bike is lighter.

I recall Ishiwata came in at least two varieties something like '015' and '017'. I'd be keen to learn a bit more about the tubing. Was it well received bu builders? How did it last? Does it rust at all?

As an aside, neither emperor has a frame tubing transfer despite being original though I'm sure I've seen them....memory is a funny thing however.

Thanks Peter Janecek Sydney Australia
