Early 60s if I dismember correctly from some article I read about "new" designs actually being recycled old designs. In this case, dual pivot sidepulls, long before Shimano "invented" them. They work about as well as a cheapy sidepull. The pair I have is pretty sloppy in terms of the arms flopping around on their pivots when the brakes are applied. May be the nature of the beast, or just due to heavy wear on this particular pair, but not something I would dare head downhill with around here, even with modern pads. Another scary GB episode in my recent past. I gave up playing with them and installed GB centerpulls instead.
