"Any opinions of SAPIM spokes...? Good, bad, ugly?"

I think I started using Sapim spokes when I got some from Cyclo-Pedia in the early 90s(?). They were single butted; 14 ga at the hub, and 15 ga everywhere else. Built them into a wheel with a Campy Record hub (6 speed) and Sun rims. Used 'em for recreational riding and commuting. With about 45k miles on them, they are still doing fine.

I've also used their fancier 14/17 ga spokes on front wheels recently, and I think it was 14/16 on the wheels for my commuting bike (17k miles, and the bike is lugged steel with old Sun Tour & Sugino bits).

Granted, I'm only 155 lbs, and relatively gentle on parts, but I've had no complaints about the Sapim spokes.
