A while back one of the guys at the LBS was showing me his B-17 and remarking on the difference between it and all of the current ones: no "chafing" ridge. The ridge that's molded into the B-17 where the top meets the skirts is my, and his, one and only beef with this otherwise superb saddle and his saddle. It wears holes in tights/shorts and rubs one spot on my right thigh until it gets to be annoying on longer rides. His saddle appears in all other ways to be a normal, slightly older, B-17 - same size, same shape. He doesn't know when the saddle was made and my browsing back through the catalogs that Bill at Wallingford Cycles has online didn't help since it shows that ridge on all of the B-17s back to the 40's and this saddle isn't that old.
So I'm looking for one or more of these "special" B-17s or at least information about when they were made and where they might be found.
Thanks,
