Carl,

The Stronglight 106 crankset first appears in the 1980 Peugeot catalog. That was the year it replaced the 105bis on the PX 10 series. I can't be certain that was the first year it was offered, but it seems likely it was around then. Perhaps others can confirm or refine this date.
