Brad, Buy some used rollers. Weyless or Kreitlers are best (heavy drums = more resistance). The MTD wood ones are super also. Cinelli's and the plastic MTD Performance ones are too easy. Learn to use them well and you will get no greater return for your effort. Example: do 25 miles in one hour. warm-up 5-10 min., then mix it up. First pull at 20-22 mph., easy 5 min (18mph)., 10 min. at 25-28 mph.,5min. easy. And so on w/ a 5 min. cool down at the end. Throw in a few sprints (all out super high rpm (145-175) and your done. Use the 48x14 (92) or at least work up to it. Learn to take off your tee shirt while not slowing down and try not to fall too much. Put a piece of electrician's tape around the middle of the front roller; it will serve as a visual aid to stay in the middle. Don't stare at it. Look up ahead and around or BOOM! Do this twice a week and you'll be o.k. come spring for sure. Wind trainers give no savy (rideing skills) so.

enjoy,
