Thanks to those who translated the serial # on my Claud Butler, which I now know was built in March of 1950. It is a bilaminate, either an Allrounder or an Avant Courer. According to a site to which a list member directed me, both those models were offered with bilaminate construction in 1950. I'm told the best way to identify the model is from the lug pattern, or more properly the sleeve pattern, as these were not true lugs. Anyone have a 1950 Butler catalog or some other pictures of the 1950 Allrounder and Avant Courer sleeves?
On another subject, can someone tell me the proper spoke length for a 36 hole Mavic MA-2 clincher rim laced 3X to Campy Record high flange hubs? 3X to Campy Record low flange? 4X to Campy low flange? I have only my Sutherland's 3rd Edition (1980) with me here, and it does not list a "rim correction factor" for the MA-2 rim. I find this odd, as I thought the MA-2 was available in the 70's. Am I mistaken about that? If so, when was the MA-2 introduced?
