Carlo asked:

"Need to ship a bike to Australia. Any idea how much freight to Sydney from central US would be? Any recommendations regarding shippers? DHL? FedEx? Someone else?"

I went this same question not that long ago and spoke to all the courier services, the post office, as well as a few freight forwarders. They all came back with enormously expensive prices: double what I could ship the same bike to Japan or Europe for! In the end, I shipped the bike with the USPS with their global express Guaranteed non-documents service. It was very expensive, but the delivery was made in 3 days. The problem was that most options required boxes of less than 79" (as measured by the post office: length plus the girth) You are simply not able to fit most frames or wheels into a 79" box. I ended up paying something like $220.
