What a great contest idea. A variation is called 'touchdown' or 'last man standing' It's like bike polo but the object to knock down are the other riders.
The only contest we were ever in was a slow bike tandem contest,with a non-fixed.I used my 4-year-old daughter to make it easier and was able to find a small crest in the parking lot and balance til the others retired.
To balance a non fixed a small slope or discreet stone on the pavement against which the tire pushes. This is why I myself learned the 'commuter stand' instrean of the 'teack' stand- i.e.- to the left instead of right. Crowned roads, wheel points left.
It's ery difficult having to switch sides after decades.
If there's no slope, one can grasp the front wheel and jockey it.
Hanging in the College Park ceiling might be a machine that could help- the frame that was once built up as the World's slowest bike. A gilmour frame that was used by Dave Steed to balance enough to beat the Japanese record- we think over 8 hours. It may have been beat by now.
