i'll only post that if there's some relevence to a CR list subject.
i think it's well known that a stradivari's workshop maintained
assistants and apprentices and produced fiddles that were the
result of a collaborative effort - not the labor of one man or the
one man whose name they carried. it was very much like a CR
list era framebuilding concern in - say, lombardy.
