Hi All, I'm putting in a long night and just finished slamming through the weekend! The long Easter weekend is coming to and end............They ( WE! ) celebrate 2nd Easter day here, today.....Monday!..I'M TRUELY SCREWED UP!..Because I missed Paris Roubaix, I thought it was today.......Because I thought today was Sunday, not Monday! Yeh!..........If anybody is screwed up it's me!.......Cranked out 5 or 6 days straight here at the warehouse........Before I knew it I'm out of bed and onto the CP! Only to learn that I've worked through part of the day in my PJs! Oh s&^$ my packing person is going to be in and I'm in my PJs! We all know what happens from there. All hell breaks loose for the 2nd half of the day!...........I really thought today was Sunday! Yes we are set up here in the warehouse to eat sleep and play, when really into the work I only go home for a quick shower.
Anyway back to this Mixty bike small rider thing! I know it's not of classic period type stuff!..............But I got a ''ROCKET!'' of a small rider Mixty frameset, now complete bike for my 12 year old girl with 700C wheels! When getting it from the supplier he said, you know it's really short!.........I looked at it and said what the hell I'll give it a try! When it started to go together I said ''WOW!'' it''s short! While it's a short frame of a small size there was no need to send the seat post high into ''HIGH HEAVEN!'', it's as far down as it can go. The seat tube extends 8.5 mm beyond the seat stays, This thing is a ''HOT ROD!'' Nadine, she like it!.........Gose to show you how compact this thing is, I had it set up for Cecile at first and Cecile is '5 tall..........We had a 13cm stem with the saddle as far back as it can go. Anyway she thought she could use a longer stem, perhaps a 14.....It's a great little bike that we can play around with to dial in the size for Cecile or Nadine!...........Dumd me, there was 2 and I only took the purple one! The other got away A ''HOT ROD!''......Blue! Anyway we got the little purple ''HOT ROD!'' Anybody wants to take a look I'll send off a pic. Surely one of our frame builders should be able to crank one out!!
Sorry Dale this frameset is off topic because it's a bud bike but I just wanted the list to know that a little beast like this does exsist. Classic material, steel lugged type of frame it's not. Sizing and it's right on, Only thing I can say to defend this post.........It gets people on 2 wheels, for sure when trying to get nadine on a regular 700C wheeled bike. This wasn't going to happen with a steel frame because there was nothing to be had, it did happen with this bud bike!.....I was told this frameset wasn't to be. It was a prototype of some sort that somehow a small batch was produced!.He the seller asked, hows that little bike doing?.I said ''GREAT!''
It's short, it's fast and it's quick!.........By far, one of the cooollest looking ''HOT ROD!'' mixties around. Come to think of it, maybe the blue one is in the basement with the thousand plus of other forgotten framesets. YES!...........I SAID THOUSAND!
BC Baron C.................And the gang!! Renaissance cycles, Eindhoven Holland!...................I'm off to bed!
> Let me just warn everyone that just because a bike is of the "Mixte"
design,
> it does not necessarily have a short effective top tube (which is what you
are
> seeking to best accommodate a "typical" female proportions of short
> torso....)
> Make sure to measure it before making assumptions...
