Subject: [CR]Time frame bikes on the Terrible Two

I did the Terrible Two double century last saturday. This is a ride that normally attracts the Ti and Carbon crowd, but it is not without some nice steel and lugged bikes, some of them being vintage as well. I saw several bikes with friction downtube shifters, one with tubular tires with hose clamps to hold on the bottle cages due to lack of braze ons. I spoke with one rider who told me he was riding a 1972 Coppi. The bike lacked any decals, and the paint job was past it's prime and likely was not that dramatic to begin with. I looked on the CR web page for anything about Coppi bikes, but couldn't find it. Perhaps I was just looking in the wrong place. Can anyone point me to online photos of a Coppi bike of this era?

While this Coppi bike was not that stunning to look at, I still admire the rider for using the bike on that demanding ride.

Also, I did see CR list member Tom Truong on the ride.
