Don, Of course a properly designed vertical or semivertical dropout takes the guesswork out of all this, as they yield only one wheel position, Amen!, but say, on a frame with 8cm drop and 42 cm chianstay length, where should the favored axle center be on a Campy 1010B dropout ? Starck, Joe P.S. I assume we're all measuring chainstay length, side view, parallel to the ground, not, parallel to the chainstay, hence, your favored 6-9mm distance would be measured the same way forward of the derailer hanger eye, eh -- or not?
