Deja Vu all over again.

Right now my primary bike is a pretty much identical Holdsworth Special: http://photo.epson.com and enter fourwdvwATyahooDOTcom (if you know what I mean). Go to the album called Holdsworth Special...

Its hard to tell from the photos, but the craiglist bike paint seems to be original, though it doesn't looks as metallic as mine, but that could be just lighting or whatever. The build seems typical and contemporary to the frame ..though I am on thin ice in this subject compared to most everyone else on this list.

The online motherload of Holdsworth catalog scans is at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nkilgariff/ , though there is also some at http://www.yellowjersey.org/holdsw.html, plus the old standby, the CR pages. The nkilgariff scan of the "Aids 81" catalog is great, it shows what the builder was offering with the frames.

You'll find the Special is a middle/upper class frame, suitable for "racing and general club riding". Note that it has fender eyelets- not an out and out racer. The 531C tubing is lighter than the 531ST used in the more touring oriented Mistral line. I find it fun to just thrash around on the local hills and comfortable on centuries. Fairweather days I use it for my commute. The only thing I don't like about it is what seems to be a relatively high bottom bracket compared to modern designs, and when you are standing on the pedals its not as stable as I would like.

The bikes finish is fine and durable, but nothing special. Lugs are simple, the headbadge is just a decal. Still, if the frame is straight and the paint is decent it looks like a fine $350 bike to me.
