Anyone else surprised at the price that this restored Bianchi Folgore fetched?
Beautiful bike to be sure, but I would have thought it would take an original bike to command that sort of price. This looks like an exquisite job of restoration and I don't doubt someone could have spent close to that much restoring it, but as we all know, one can seldom gets one's money out of an extensive restoration. There are photos of Coppi and mention of Fausto winning races "on a bike like this", but there is no real claim of provenance to hype the price.
