This looks like an exquisite job of restoration and I don't doubt someone could have spent close to that much restoring it, but as we all know, one can seldom gets one's money out of an extensive restoration. There are photos of Coppi and mention of Fausto winning races "on a bike like this", but there is no real claim of provenance to hype the price.
Not surprised in the least! There is not another marque in the bike world that has the racing heritage of Bianchi. There are only a few marques that are worth investing in a restoration. There is a _very_ short list of restoration projects worthy of throwing money at if you intend on recouping your costs at a later date.
My opinion of course...
