The Zeus Criterium rear derailleur is a copy of Campagnolo's Nuovo Record. The Zeus Alpha rear derailleur is a copy of Campagnolo's Valentino.

Anybody know the widest possible gear ranges for these derailleurs? Can a Nuovo Record, for example, handle 52/36 front and 14/28 rear?

I would be very surprised to find that this shifts well, or handles anywhere near the wrap (chain take-up) you seek. The NR and its clones are still single-spring units, with relatively short spacing between the pulleys. I have been fairly happy with NR using a 14:28 and a 4 tooth split in front (like a 44-48) for half-step. I think we once ran a similar set-up with a 13:31 and a 5-tooth. However, these are much less demanding thank wrapping the 52-36=16 tooth (8 inches) you require (unless you plan to only use the largest rear with small front, and vice versa).

But, please let me know if I am wrong.
