snipped and cut:
I think all of us would agree on one thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In all honesty I can not understand the whole price level thatthe MASI brand brings at auction today but that is me. The last time I asked about the seemingly high value on a MASI GC I was told that "hey it was in that movie, that's why".
that's a hoot!
breaking away, the movie, came years after the masi name and
legacy was firmly planted. YEARS!!
masi, the brand, is/was more of a 60s phenomenom that transcended
into the next decade through synergy, marketing, by limiting
output, by never having a "B" model, by staying true to its
racing roots, etcetera, infinity.
masi bikes of that era were the most sought after of all
top level brands. what came down in the late 70s in north
america was almost completely seperate from all that pre-
ceded it. the name was licensed and resold several times
here in the states.
it's all in the cr archives!
