Greetings Folks,
As the subject indicates - yes, this is one of the 'Real' ones (with Tom's signature on the LH chain stay) and was built in 09/81 and is #078. Full Reynolds DB Frame; Fork and Stays, Campagnolo Drop-outs (w/eyelets both front & rear) and nice Lug Work (seat lug in particular); Size is 57cm (c-c) with a 56cm top tube and a 40 1/2" wheelbase; Relaxed angles (72.5o seat tube; 72o head tube); Braze-ons for one water bottle (down tube); Derailleur cables (top of bottom bracket); and Rear Derailleur Stop; Brake Drop ~54mm w/700c wheels. 27.2mm seat post; English threading.
There are several paint chips and a very small dent in the top tube, but it is still quite nice, and of course original. I have not attempted to touch up the nicks, as I originally (I've had this for 4-5 years) planned to have it refinished since I am not fond of the color blue. With that thought in mind, I had Mary Pfeiffer make a set of repro decals (originals are no longer available per Tom Kellogg) which look just like the ones on the bike - she did an outstanding job! I have pictures for those interested in seeing them. $265.00 (shipped in the U.S.) and that includes the replacement decal set (you'll have to get Tom to sign it however!!).
Regards,
Chuck Brooks
