. . . but only a messenger would buy the parts that you would deem "dead" thus increasing your warchest for NOS parts. And those lads, and ladies too, love the classic era parts. Though like me they're mostly more partial to the better performing SunTour over the slightly longer lasting Campagnolo in my experience.

As to Bradley's original question I'd have to say either the Cambrio-Corsa, Paris-Roubix, Nivex shifting systems. Of course there's at least once item per page in The Data Book that makes me want to head to the machine shop. For the person who wants an ASC I'd agree if it could be made just as bombproof as any other S-A hub.
