Hendrickx's Terrible Crash

http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/album17/HendrickxJPG?full=

Albert Hendrickx (Belgian team) was descending the Aravis when he botch the approach to a tunnel and crashed head-first into the stone wall. Delirious, he was carried to a car and rushed to hospital. He recovered, but the '37 Tour was over for him in dramatic fashion. On the right - French "individuel" Victor Cosson, himself the victim several falls (see the holes in his left sleeve!) helps pic up some of the pieces, including Hendrickx's crushed front wheel. From "Match" No.579, 9 July 1937.
