Hi "CR LIST," Chiming in on Duane Kennard's request for information on a "Miyata Pro" or "Miyata Team Pro," I too just purchased a Miyata Pro and would love to hear from list members about there on topic Miyata Pro or Miyata Team Pro bicycles...... There is a decal on my "Miyata Pro" that says CYCLEPRO. The parts on the used Miyata Pro that I bought are late 70's and early 80's Campagnolo Record. The owner told me he was the original owner and the bicycle was a 10 speed and ten years old (YEAH RIGHT). Anyone can count six speed rear. It turns out he bought it ten years ago to train for a human powered flight event since he was a pilot but not really a bicyclist..... The Patent date on the rear Neuvo Record rear derailleur is 1978 and the date code on the Campagnolo Record cranks is CIRLCE TWO = 1982. The bicycle has Campagnolo Record side pull brakes circa late 1970's early 1980's, THE CYCLE PRO DECAL IS on the top tube (I'm not sure if the decal is original to the frame or not). I've always thought of "Cycle Pro" as very low end after market product. The headset says "CYLCE PRO" MADE IN ITALY. BUT IS A QUALITY LOOKING ALLOY HEADSET. The Campagnolo friction down tube shifters are mounted in an AERODYNAMIC FASHION on a factory brazed block for the shifters. My guess is the bicycle is early 1980's because of the ''AERO" downtube shifters. The hubs are Campagnolo Record but I have not checked for a date code on the hubs The dropouts are Campagnolo.

I too would be interested to learn more about the "Miyata Pro" that I have JUST recently purchased or if anyone has any catalogs FOR MIYATA from that era (probably early 1980's) FOR SALE OR TRADE.

The CR website had a picture of a Team Miyata Pro from the Kioga Team. The archives mostly had information about folks that own the Miyata Pro bicycles or who had previously owned at one time or another a Miyata Pro.

My question is what would have been a typical build up on a Miyata Shimanao or Italian parts ?

Thanks for your help.

Yours truly,
Marty Walsh in Vienna,Va.
