I don't remember seeing gold-color or otherwise Oro-looking FW as early as '68 (when we moved to Providence). I think I'd seen or heard 'o them by '72, when we moved to Oregon... I suspect that a plain grey unit would be more nearly correct for a '68, but the FW is such a service replacement item that few would quibble about riding with a Oro.

In my own heresy, I even contemplating putting the "outers" from an oro onto a Cinelli FW to get the ratios I wanted, but haven't gotten that willing to risk the wrath of the Anals yet. :-) Just think what the Anthropocycologists would think in 50 years when they found a dusty Cinelli FW with Oro cogs, clearly demonstrating that the stockpile persisted well into the 70s...

harvey sachs mcLean va ++++++++++++++++++++ Regina Oro Freewheel dating project has been cancelled due to non-renewal of funding. Well, OK, the Regina Oro in my possession is actually dated "79" and not "70," as many of you no doubt suspected. Thanks to Greg P. for calling attention to my poor eyesight. Anyway, you'd think the splined body would have been a giveaway ...Still interested in dating info for Oro, GS Oro, GS Corse, as my '68 Cinelli still needs an appropriate freewheel ...
