Thanks to everyone that responded to my question. That was my first post on this list. I was told this would be a good place to go for the information I was looking for. I was hoping the subject matter was not outside the scope of the topic of the list. I've been researching this for months. I learned more in the first hour of my post than I have in all the time I've searched.

I own two Atala track bikes. They both look the same except for the size. One is a 50cm, the other a 60cm. I ride the 60 with a brake on front for training on the road. The frame weighs eight pounds without the fork. The guy that gave me the 60 said that it was at least forty years old.

I am a forty-eight year old track racer from Indianapolis Indiana USA. The masters national (old guys) championships are in my city this year. I recently read something very interesting about shellac or track (hard) glue. It's supposed to be faster because of lower rolling resistance. It's not much faster, but several thousandths of a second often times means the difference between winning or losing in a kilo or flying 200m, and I want to do every thing I can to win.

If anyone is interested, and you haven't seen them already, these sites are very informative. http://www.analyticcycling.com/ForcesTire_TireRollingResistance.html http://www.sheldonbrown.com/brandt/mounting-tubulars.html http://www.analyticcycling.com/ForcesTires_Disc.html

Again, Sorry if this is off topic, but this was the right place to go.
