S-A has made various lengths of axles over the years and you just need a new axle. I'm guessing that you have the 5.5" axle and you need the 6.5". Since you're in Spokane I would tell you to call the now defunct Bikesmith in Seattle and get a new axle, but Val has gone the way of many shops of the past. I'm not sure who picked up most of his S-A stock, but maybe someone on the list may know.

Anyway have you checked Columbia Cycle or Wheel Sport yet? Both shops have been around for quite a while and may have some in their dusty bins. You might also check with Shull's Cyclery here in Cd'A. If nothing else I think you can get one from Harris Cyclery. The harder part would be finding someone who will over haul and replace you're axle. If you can't find anyone in Spokane drop me a line and you can come over and I can teach you how to do it yourself. best, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives back in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. . . at least for the time being.
