Subject: [CR]Normandy Hubs/Maillard/Atom

Hi All,

I just bought a wheelset from Eric Acuna. It's off an old Motobecane Grand Jubilee - Weinmann rims and Normandy hubs. It is a nice, light wheelset, which looks good on the project bike I am building. I noticed that the QR levers have "Atom" inscribed on them. This was interesting, because I always thought of Normandy hubs as "Maillard" hubs.

A bit of research on yellowjersey.com educated me to the fact that there is/was some connection between Maillard and Atom, but I don't understand the details of the relationship. Was Atom just a line of Maillard products? Was it a subsidiary? A business partner?

Just Curious,
