Thanks all - good tips. John and Brian... I appreciate your thoughts about the 'spinning badge' !
I am VERY embarressed however - I am actually going by Ted E's place this afternoon to pick up the White Pro frame, after his careful allignment (the forks were indeed bent back a small bit as you thought Brian) - and he also stripped down the frame.....and re'reading his email just now, he has ALREADY removed the Badge ! (Thanks Ted !!). I hadn't expected that was included as part of his plans when I asked him to help get the frame ready for refinish - an oversight on the part of an amateur on my end !!
Regarding putting it back on - one person suggested actually gluing the badge on after refinish, but I think Brian's plan seems better. I'll let ya know what I find.
Now on to matching paint colors !! (The tri colored band on the seat tube is what I'm working on now - some might call it 'red / black / yellow' - but with closer inspection of a bunch of pictures I've been sent, it may be closer to 'crimson / black / copperish gold' )
Thanks all,
