i recently aquired this

Peugeot from the 1920ies.

it is described as "Halbrenner" (= "Half Racer")

can anybody tell me what the difference between a "Half Racer" and a racing bike fromthat period is?

2nd question: was it customary to only have a rear brake at that time, or is the front brake simply missing?
