Plenty of classic pictures. Though not completed...and many of the suggested modifications by the esteemed members of this list have not yet been made...there are pictures on the Gitane site for your enjoyment. There is a bonus section featuring pictures of the bike Greg Lemond rode in 1983 to win the worlds...an all French production Gitane...save the Campy back wheel, Columbus tubes...and Cinelli BB shell.
In addition, the pictures will have some text to them. Special thanks to those list members who gave me permission to use their photos.
Brett Horton: Thanks a lot for the use of your pictures: I have to still get the photo credits up, but the link is there on the links page....
Please remember before you skewer me again...gitaneusa.com is a site made by a fan for fans. It is history and propaganda (is that redundant?). Gitane's ARE the best bikes ever made...and I always lighten my bike for climbs by removing the water bottle and putting it in my jersey pocket (a line stolen to illustrate the absurdity).
Anyhow, I thought I would share my love of the brand with everyone by putting this stuff online!
