I'm not positive on this point, but I think the lugs were not masked but rather painted by hand with a brush after the bike was painted white. A lso, the PX-10's (early 70's) I remember did not have any pinstriping ar ound the lugs.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Thankfully not painting bikes anymore (once the pile is gone). Construct uer bikes are where it's at. Way more fun, way more challenging. Fabrica ting parts and learning to gas weld aluminium is prooving to be quite di fficult; therein lies the fun.

The quality of the masking doesn't matter at all, as long as the gold l ining

that covers it is sloppy enough. Why not just ask Jim to skip the stri ping?

I'm sure you could do a perfect job yourself, after a suitable applica tion

of spirits (to you, not the frame...).
