I'm not positive on this point, but I think the lugs were not masked but rather painted by hand with a brush after the bike was painted white. Also, the PX-10's (early 70's) I remember did not have any pinstriping around the lugs.

I guess they were pretty inconsistent about this... Peter's got a' 69 that is not striped, but I've seen a a few mid-60's PX-10's that were. My '72 had gold striping around the head lugs, around the elliptical black panels on the seat stay caps, and where the paint met the chrome on the seat stays, chain stays and fork blades, and around the little raised chrome flourishes on the tops of the fork crown.
