I believe one important tool for the future of our ever-expanding/contracting presence on the web is a gradual increase in the number of small, highly concentrated sites dealing with specific topics/aspects/eras, just as the Allegro site did in the past. And I think one key to making it all work is to have updated, easy to find links to one-another's sites. Not just a page of links, but links within the text, as part of photo captions, etc.
As new sites develop, it's important to get them linked to the appropriate pages on the larger and older sites. Likewise, we need to help Dale and the other guardians spot and correct broken links as they come to light.
There's no need to expand (for instance) the CR Campagnolo coverage when there are superb sites already devoted exclusively to the topic. The Coppernolo brakeset must surely be mentioned on a Campagnolo site by now, isn't it?
