On what basis Italian invented?

Trust me , my uncles told me the Italians invented everything worth inventing but I believe an Irishman? named Dunlop invented pneumatic tires and I don't see any real difference between "single tube" tires and sewups except the number of cord plies and how thick the rubber is. Not even the diameter of the rim after about 1896.
