>From time to time I have seen the handy work of various folks who line lugs
lauded and discussed here. Folks like the one who did the wonderful red
lining on some Paramounts up to '70 or '71 (Anyone know for sure when this
was stopped? I've seen lined lugs on a '70 but by '72 it was apparently no
more.).
I just want to say that today I got a frame back from Brian Baylis that I
had him paint black. It has chrome lugs and gold decals. This much I
expected.
When I took it out of the box my eyes nearly filled with tears. Not only
was it everything I had hoped, but Brian had lined all the bridge stays,
water bottle lugs, etc. with gold. It was just stunning! It was also right
at the level where I had to think that no one in the world could have done
this better. I mean just perfection!
I'm hoping Brian will share with us a bit how he manages to do such a
perfect job of this. It seems beyond possibility to Ham Handed Me that
anyone could possibly have a hand that steady. I think we are indeed
fortunate to have such masters among us.
If he can't outrun me, I plan on giving him a big old hug at Cirque this
year! I'll bring the bike, too.
