I've noticed that the numbers go all over the place. I really did read 41.2 for the Chorus in the Barnett manual, but I've previously heard that new and recent Campy road headsets will fit as replacements for NRs and SRs, of course this is compatible with your number. Is this variation because of lack of measurement standards, or do the parts vary from year to year, or ??
Thanks, Dave, I'll have to remember to hand fit carefully when I do try some parts, and to check the HS parts against the steer tube/head tube combination.

Thank you!
So if an A-9 is 40 mm (Barnett's says 40.7) and a Chorus is 41.2 (Barnett again) perhaps a Chorus would be a good choice. Is the maximum 1-to-2 mm difference if I use a Chorus acceptable, or do I need a closer match to the original size? Clearly I can use a shorter headset with added spacers.

It's the same as the A-9 alloy version: 40mm.

An A-9 ought to work fine.
