Hey! Who really knows, some of these pedal bodies could have been sourced out from Olympic of Spain?....................2 years ago I visited an old shop in Arnhem here in Holland. I'm sure that there must be a Dutch list member who must know of this very same shop and shop owner. As of now I cannot recall the name of this shop, of course we were looking for old bike parts. We, Cecile and myself stayed and chated for a bit. Somewhere down the line he pulled out a Campagnolo HF Record hub! Waving it at me, he said this is not Campagnolo, it is Olympic of Spain! In the old day I used to go to Campagnolo every year and I see the Olympic hub shells! Here look at this Olympic hub!...................He then went on to say, it was Olympic who produced the Campagnolo hub shells. If true, then whos to say, who coppied who?..............................Or who made what for who. Or sourced out what they liked............from others. I'm not stating that Olympic did produce Hub shells nor pedal bodies for Campagnolo just passing on a little bit of what I hear while being on the road. If anything I will miss from living here in Europe is the stories and things that I hear while on the road.
Pedal bodies.....................Perhaps the same gig.
BC Baron C................And the gang!!............Passing on little bits and pieces. Renaissance cycles, Eindhoven Holland.
Another brief anecdotal obsevation for the empiricists: I've seen tons of
Superleggeri pedals and perhaps a dozen or so pair of SR. I've never *notic ed *any difference in the finish of the pedal bodies between the two. I've never seen *any* Campagnolo pedals that have had the mold parting lines ground and polished off like the example in the cited auction. I always found that fact a little disappointing given the generally excellent finish
on those gruppos.
