There are lots of interesting shops. Check the archives for more info, but for starters, don't miss Il Vecchio in Leschi on Lake WA, Elliot Bay downtown and Wright Bros in Fremont. All have amazing bikes on display, from Schwinn Paramount via old British bikes to René Herse machines. Then there is Recycled Cycles in the Univ. District, Bikeworks on Rainier and a few others... like Jeff Groman's shop on Bainbridge (Kingston Classic Cycles).
Vintage rides - nothing regular and very organized, but we need something... so there is room for initiative. Welcome to Seattle. -- Jan Heine, Seattle Editor/Publisher Vintage Bicycle Quarterly c/o Il Vecchio Bicycles 140 Lakeside Ave, Ste. C Seattle WA 98122 http://www.vintagebicyclepress.com
I just moved from SLC to Seattle, and all my stuff (see bike list at end) will arive today. I will have to buy numerous small items (cables, bar tape ...) to start getting them together, and hope to start riding in a day or two. So, here are the questions:
1) What bike shops would you recommend? Any that might have an intersting bike on display, or have an intersting owner/employee.
2) Does anyone ever get together for vintage rides here?
Thanks in advance, Dan Kasha Seattle
