"The Lloyds stickers look great at a quick glance. But if you run your

finger over them, there is a noticeable lip because of the thick paper,

unlike water slide decals, which have no edge. You may call me anal, but I've put a lot of time and money into getting the restoration "right," so I feel like the effort is diminished if I go with a sticker

instead the "correct" water slide decal.

Wow, and I thought I was a stickler for accuracy! I'd rather crash using a

properly matched Universal brake set than use Weinmann levers. But I nev er considered the finer points of rim decals. But interesting... Fiam me were unusual were they not as Mavic, Super Champion and most others used "stickers" not decals. This is explains why my Fiamme decals were split and cracked and flaking. Proper restoration means recreating even the unsatisfactory and the unfathomable. So I will get points off for the pretty Lloyds stickers on my rims. Of course until I find a replacement Cinelli stem, this bike is going to collect dust anyway.
