Greg,

There used to be a great latex solution, dissolved in naptha. I have used it to revive brake hoods, as well as the sidewalls of tubulars. That product is no longer available, and the only current product, Tirelife, is an acqueous solution of latex with ammonia, which simply does not penetrate as well as the old cancer hazard, naptha. I have used Tirelife on sidewalls, and it works OK, but won't do anything for brake hoods.
