Yes, shipping from Holland, and from Germany by the way, is prohibitively expensive if you insure and track the packages. But this is neither secret nor the fault of vendors, but of illogical postal regulations. Baron was good at always offering shipping options and finding the most economic option if that was what you wanted. On large orders, he would distribute the order between boxes so no one box got a huge hit for exceeding a postal weight or size limit. Ebay vendors are usually not as helpful, and I've pretty much given up buying from Germany except from CR list members.
