This would make a great collaborative project, and if no one else is interested please consider me for the position of project manager. How about an album on wooljersey set up for this purpose? It's easy to post photos, add and edit comments, change the photo order as more data surfaces, etc. (all made possible by the incredible generosity of the wooljersey sponsor!).

I have a few GB stems in a small range and a few older Holdsworthy Aids catalogs. Not much to go on, but it's a start. I propose posting a decent (not pro) quality photo and a brief description, along with an attempt to match it up with produciton dates and any useful data from the catalogs. Others may then post comments, corrections, etc. Anyone who cares to send me photos of their stems and contribute their knowledge would be most welcome. We could build a decent timeline and visual database if enough people chip in on this.

Comments? I'm not going to start on this unless at least a couple of people think it's a worthy idea (since it's not billable time). I also wouldn't mind expanding this concept to GB bars, assuming that's even a rational idea.
