A person with more funds than I is welcome to bid and own what I cannot. That does not bother me one bit. As for the logic of bidding high early or snipe at the end I believe it is a function of ones means. Yes if I see a high bid to start with I shy away but if there is a chance that I can snag an item right at the end then I make the attempt. This is part of the fun to me. One thing I have learned about some items that go for an unusually high amount of money. It may seem reasonable at that time given their scarcity. Soon after a lot of followers will release their treasures hoping to get in on the windfall. If you are patient on ebay you can usually find something come up over time that will be a lot less then the first one that sold. Watch for Ideale 54 saddles, I'll bet that last auction draws them out of the woodwork. When I first joined the list a few years back I remember that MASI GCs were not very common on ebay. Now it seems that there are two a week on there. This is one thing ebay has over the brick and morter auction houses. I can watch for an item to show up over and over again very easily and wait for a price to my liking.
