When I ride, I ride dressed comfortably and highly visible!! No bunch-in the crotch walking shorts but padded lycra ones, with a fluorescent yellow stripe and jersey to match and bright neon yellow helmet. It seems to ward off Texas Bubbas in Dually pickup trucks with wide sweeping wing mirrors. When I meet other cyclists,I chat them up,regardless of their outfits, or the vintage of their wheels. They're riding by Gum!! not watching TV or blogging! Art Link,San Antonio,TEXAS,USA

Am I hearing this correctly that there are folks here who make judgments about other cyclists because they are not wearing clothes that the critics find to be not matching their own tastes? I ride in what I consider comfortable...I do try just for fun to wear a Masi jersey if riding a Masi or a Sachs jersey on a Sachs bike and so on, but this is just a personal choice that reflects my own goofy preferences...I eschew fluorescent and gaudy but then I also eschew it in my non-riding clothes. I am feeling like a calculus of political correctness is being applied to my clothing choices is this is so. And if this is so, this forum would be a poor place, indeed, (and would probably cause Dale to blanch and gasp at the reply I would make to such folks) for me to express what any such folks can do...how damn ridiculous!
