There are two styles of the typical gray pulleys found on NR and SR rear derailleurs (plus a few atypical early and late versions). The older pulleys have a larger diameter bushing made of bronze while the sleeve in the pulley itself is steel and has a lube channel. On the newer pulleys the bushing is smaller in diameter, steel, and channeled, while the sleeve in the pulley is bronze and has no channel. I have what appears to be a stock 1982 rear that came with the older pulley and a 1983 rear that came with the newer pulley. It is possible that the change took place around 82-83. On the other hand, it would not surprise me if the newer pulley had first been produced much earlier and the old style pair on my 1982 unit were found kicking around the factory at some later date.
The other day I removed the self-extracting bolts from a C-rec crank and one of the washers was chromed while the other was the typical gray powder coat. I think Campy chromed crank bolts and washers for a very brief period in the mid 80's. The washer on my later C-rec crank is likely residue from that time.
