Yes, asking this question does make me feel like a dope.
I am having difficulty finding sources of head set and bottom bracket wrenches (that is: thin profile open end wrenches) to fit the older components (not Campag). Can't use the adjustable monkey/"Ford" wrench on everything. I have tried: United Bicycle Supply; Tools Etc, QBP and tool manufacturers SK, Facom, Armstrong.
So, where did you find yours ? Any sources for professional quality tools in the sizes required?
No problem with 30; 32; 36; but, what of the other sizes?
Per measurements, sizes needed are:
Stronglight (?) HS lock nut: 30 or 31 (measured @ 30.5) and HS nut:41 or 42 measured @ 41.5). Stronglight BB: Non-drive = 24 (found one style of VAR wrench); Drive = 38.
Ofmega (? old??): Locknut = 33; Nut = 43
